Set against a backdrop of Mountains and Forests, Holy Lakes and Sacred Ruins, Shiluvari welcomes you to Ancient Venda and promises to restore your natural rhythm...The cool, thatched chalets all overlooking the Albasini Dams and Luonde Mountains form the perfect base from which to explore this 'land of legend'. We are situated about 20km East of Louis Trichardt.

The Lodge:

The main Lodge, once the old farmhouse, houses the award winning Wood-Owl country restaurant, the Hog & Hound bar and fireplace, “Textures” art outlet,  wrap-around terrace for al-fresco dining, and reception area. On site facilities also include the Lakeside Swimming pool, as well as the motorized raft, ‘the Savannah’ for sunset cruises along the Luvuvhu River.

Shiluvari is set in the midst of a rich heritage of Venda & Shangaan culture, and showcases the Open Africa Ribolla Arts Route of which the world renown Venda “big five’ artists can be found.  For the more adventurous you can visit these artists on a self-drive basis or make use of one of the accredited guides from the Ribolla Tourism association who will entrance you with tales of Python Gods, magic mountains and singing Drums!!

Shiluvari Lodge has an array of different accommodation needs to suit all requirements. Ranging from standard rooms, and thatched chalets and right through to the Mukhondeni Family Suite. Each room offers you secluded and private intimacy and are set apart from each other, all with their own charm.

All rooms have high quality furniture and fittings, including 100% cotton percale linen, sheeps wool duvets, large fluffy towels and a wide range of quality guest amenities. In room facilities include radio with alarm, mosquito netting, tea and coffee facilities, haridryers and in room safes. All our room are decorated with only local furniture and fittings, and the use of specialised pieces and local Art can be found throughout the various accommodation types on offer.

Another added attraction is that if you really like what you see, you will be able to purchase almost everything locally, and we can source whatever you cannot find straight away.
