The best kept secret on the Kwazulu-Natal South Coast, UMDONI HOUSE is approached via a bower like drive that leads under the wide branches of flamboyand and trees up to the huge umdoni that stands on guard at the entrance - it's huge gnarled old branches pushing out as if to form a protective umbrella over the house.

Entering through the solid mahogany door, one is overwhelmed by the ambience - and feel drawn through the lounge to the pool deck where in summer, the pink and purple tibochina dominate. Throughout the year, the garden is ablaze with the different colours and hues of the sub-tropical vegetation that abounds within our grounds and throughout the garden suburb of Umtentweni.

The six bedrooms which are set around a small internal courtyard, boast identical wrought iron bedroom suites, and the clean cream walls are offset by matching vibrant curtains and upholstery To ensure the comfort of our guests, ceiling fans and tea and coffee facilities are installed in each bedroom.

Breakfast is served alfresco on the verandah just outside the guest lounge, next to the pool. After you have selected from the cold buffet of fruit juice, fresh fruit, cereals and yoghurt, peruse the a la carte menu and order your choice to be freshly cooked to your taste.
