Tangala is one of the last remaining authentic african experiences in South Africa that have been a legacy of the family for more than 3 generations.

This intimate and exclusive private safari camp is situated in the 22 000 acre Thornybush Private Nature Reserve, a prime ecological area abounding in wildlife.

At Tangala we have created the feel of Africa long forgotten and our team strives to give all guests the ultimate African bush experience.

Tangala was rated as a 3 Star Graded Game Lodge and was a Semi-Finalist in the AA Travel Guides Accommodation Awards in the Game Lodge category.

Accommodation at the camp will bring back memories of a bygone era of the "Colonial Africa" long forgotten. The five twin bedded thatched chalets have been interior designed to provide the ultimate in rustic luxury. All chalets have en suite facilities and its own private viewing patio. Our camp is electricity free with kerosene lamps/lantern lighting being provided.

Cooking is performed on either gas or open fire. Our cuisine has been specially created to reflect Africa in all her moods. Meals are social occasions and a time to listen and share fascinating tales of the bush or to sit back and reflect on the day passed. Meals include a full breakfast/brunch, high tea, snacks and boma dinner. Wine connoisseurs from the Cape have designed our comprehensive wine list, and all dietary and culinary requirements are met at Tangala. Synonymous with exciting Big 5 Safaris, friendly service and African Cuisine the staff at Tangala will ensure a memorable South African Wildlife Safari.

Rates: Low Season R990 per person per night. High Season R1495 per person per night. Rates are inclusive of accommodation, morning game drive, late afternoon and evening game drive, bush walk, all meals, snacks on game drives, tea & coffee. Beverages/bar not included. All soft and alcoholic beverages/bar, gratuities and items of personal nature (repellents & medicine) not included.
